Bridging Theory & Technique for Complex Presentations

Two Day CPD Course | Sat 19 – Sun 20 July 2025 | Gold Coast

Join us for a masterclass exploring clinical techniques and their application within the autonomic nervous system (ANS), fascial, visceral, and cranial systems, bridging the gap between complex clinical cases and effective treatment.

This dynamic CPD course is designed for osteopaths, physiotherapists, and chiropractors looking to deepen their understanding of applied anatomy, osteopathic models, and hands-on techniques. This course will focus on Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) inclusive of discussion on Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Fascia & its Clinical Relevance, with an introduction to Osteopathic Visceral treatment and Craniosacral Osteopathy – (no previous experience required).

New to craniosacral and/or visceral techniques? Don’t worry, a pre-learning introduction to craniosacral & visceral will be sent to prior to the course.

Presented by Deborah Calleja Bach.App.Sc.(Osteopathy) & Erin Barnes (Bach Clin.Sc, Mast Ost.Med)

Early Bird Discount: $100 off course price if you pay in full before 30 April 2025.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the anatomical relevance to treatment, and the musculoskeletal presentations of ANS, fascial, cranial and visceral restrictions.
  • Develop palpatory skills for cranial holds, visceral, ANS treatment approaches and fascia assessment and treatment.
  • Understand the implications of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) in osteopathic practice.
  • Review the clinical presentation and pathophysiology of POTS.

Learning objectives for ANS:

Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) & Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS):

  • Understand the implications of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) in osteopathic practice.
  • Review clinical presentations and pathophysiology of POTS.
  • Analyze the structural and functional relationships between the ANS and musculoskeletal system.
  • Apply osteopathic techniques for the treatment of autonomic dysfunction.

Fascia and its Clinical Relevance:

  • Recognize the role of fascial treatment in osteopathic management.
  • Review the anatomical and physiological properties of fascia.
  • Explore the impact of fascial restrictions on biomechanics and function.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in fascial techniques for clinical application.

Osteopathic Visceral Treatment:

  • Understand the relevance of visceral treatment in musculoskeletal presentations.
  • Review key anatomical structures involved in visceral osteopathy.
  • Evaluate the physiological connections between visceral and somatic dysfunction.
  • Develop hands-on skills for practical application of visceral techniques.

Cranial Osteopathy:

  • Discuss the fundamental theories underlying cranial osteopathy.
  • Review the anatomy of cranial structures and their relevance to osteopathic practice.
  • Develop palpatory skills for cranial holds and assessment.
  • Implement various cranial techniques and discuss relevance in clinical settings.
  •

Deepen your understanding of the complex relationships between anatomical systems to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment effectiveness. This evidence-informed education integrates traditional osteopathy with advancements in evolving clinical practice insights and research driven methodologies, providing a comprehensive approach to patient care.
